There’s nothing humble about this quilt. Its traditional name is Exquisite, and it is indeed just that. The Humble name applies only because the blocks are made with a simple sew-and-flip technique that makes piecing fast and easy. This quilt is stunning when made with scraps of every color, but don’t overlook the option of limiting the colors in this quilt. A variety of scraps in the same color family—all blues, for example— would also be dramatic. The scraps for this quilt need to be at least 41/2” square. All the background squares are cut from one color, but that doesn’t mean it has to be white or beige. How about yellow, red, or even orange? Class will be recorded if you can't make the date or time.
