Sew Powerful Sew-a-thon Monday, September 28th from 10:00 - 3:00 PM

We're honored to support Sew Powerful's annual sew-a-thon! Each year, Baby Lock Sponsors the Sew PowerfulSew-A-Thon. Why this cause? Because $10 changes a girl's school year. In Zambia, girls miss school every month without access to menstrual health supplies. Sew Powerful's purse program changes that — every $10 raised fills one purse with the reusable supplies a girl needs, made locally by Zambian staff, keeping her in class and on track. Since 2009 Sew Powerful has worked to assist children with academic achievement in Zambia by employing local seamstresses to make needed items. Our Sew Powerful Purse program lets sewists from around the world participate by making a cross-body purse that's used to deliver sustainable menstrual health supplies and education. Creating these purses helps Sew Powerful to provide menstrual products for Zambian students so they don't have to miss out on school days. The organization also helps locals to develop sewing based careers to support their families. *The class fee of $10 will be donated to this organization as well as the cross-body purses created by October 1st.
