Celebrate Kimberbell Day with Thimbles

Thimbles is having a Kimberbell Day Party!

Did you know that July 29 is officially Kimberbell Day? We’re celebrating the holiday with a party at the shop

Kimberbell Day falls on the last Saturday in July and is a Worldwide Machine Embroidery Event. From 9:00 am - 4:00 pm MT, machine embroiderers around the world will work together online and at their local quilt shops to create special Kimberbell projects, engage in product demos, catch sneak peeks at new upcoming events and projects, participate in giveaways, and learn more about Kimberbell!

Join Thimbles on Saturday, July 29, from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm to celebrate Kimberbell Day. We’ll be serving a continental breakfast and broadcasting Kim Christopherson’s presentation. Participants can watch at the shop or at home on Zoom—tickets are $15, and we also have kits available for purchase.

Kimberbell Day registration includes a FREE cupcake background quilting design along with video instructions for making a Confetti Table Runner. You must register with Kimberbell to receive the free pattern and be eligible for the giveaways.

Thimbles will serve a breakfast of quiche, bacon, fruit salad and muffins. The event begins with a Clear Blue Tiles Giveaway and demo that includes the above free design. This is followed by a Speed Round of Sneak Peeks and Giveaways, after which we’ll break for the day. Attendees can continue participating in the event at home via Zoom. Kim will be hosting a sew along featuring two projects. The first is the Flyaway Bats Pillow from Home Sweet Haunted Home.

During the Flyaway Bats Pillow sew along, Kim will also give viewers a closer look at the upcoming Treats for My Boo! event. Thimbles is hosting Treats for My Boo both online and in store on August 12 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. You still have time to register to make the three spook-tacular projects, which include a Spooky Spider Jar Topper (with Scaredy Cat alternative), Hocus Pocus Gift Pocket, and Treats for My Boo ghost tote. Class kits and lunch are included with registration!

The second project Kim will work on is the Winter Cardinal Ornament from Winter Wonderland.

Thimbles is fully invested in Kimberbell Day as well as several Kimberbell events across the year. Did you miss out on signing up for Kimberbell Embroidery of the Month Club earlier this year? You can still sign up with Thimbles! We’ll send you the projects you missed and you can attend classes for the remaining projects this year. We meet on the last Thursday and last Saturday of the month—attend whichever day works best for you! We also broadcast on Facebook virtually during the Saturday meetings, for those who wish to attend online.

With both in person and virtual options, attendees for Deck the Palms will craft three festive, giftable projects that include an adorable Bulb Ornament Zipper Pouch, a Palm Tree Charm, and a “Let’s Flamingle!” Cinch Sack.
